One Porch ::: Three Ways

   Our porch is our favorite room. We eat meals on it. Have parties on it. Sit and talk on it. Cry and share our heart on it. Have quiet times on it. Sip lemonade and wave at passers by on it. We call it the Therapy Room. {You can check out our porch through the year with all the extra pics here. I’m just showing the three main views for this post.}

So, when a bunch of other fun bloggers put out a call to take one room and share it three ways…..there are many rooms that I could have chosen; but I thought our favorite room would be the most fun! So, here it is…..

One Room Porch ::: Three Ways

In the autumn we had fun adding corn stalks, heirloom pumpkins, and lots pine cones……..

In the winter Handsome & No. 1 Son got poison ivy getting these great branches for me. {They really love me!} I stuck them in two pots of dirt, reused our Christmas wreath…just added a burlap bow, brought out our ice skates and sleds…and had fun writing a message on our French sidewalk cafe chalkboard for the new year.

This summer we pulled out some metal stands from under the house that we’ve had forever and put two pots of ivy on top, a giant fern in a vintage olive bucket brought from inside, pulled the lanterns up around everything {we light them at night…and it’s just magical!}, hydrangeas in a hanging metal pocket on the door, and used our driftwood and seashell garland over the door….the one we usually put on the mantel in the summer.

Summer Front Porch 2013

Pretty much everything we use on our porch are things that we already have. We may grab something seasonal, like pumpkins or corn stalks, but for the most part we just pull things from other places in our garden or from inside and change things up a bit every few months on the porch.

What’s missing from these pics are on the left we have a dining table and chairs, an old vintage ladder with European grain sacks hanging on it….and on the right we have our porch swing, chairs, pillows, table……a great place to visit or just be. =)

    Your summer porch caught my eye on Pinterest because I noticed my summer chalkboard art! It looks great there! Each season of your porch is gorgeous!

      Thanks, Julie! I’m so glad you found it! Someone sent me the pic of the art and I loved it…so I replicated it on our chalkboard, but when I clicked on the image it just went to a Pinterest pic page with no link to a blog, site, etc. I’d love to link to you! Send me the link to your art so I can update my post with it! =) So glad to have you here at the cottage!
